Monday 11th January 2010

Today our group began by dicussing our roles making sure that everyone knew the jobs they need to do and what their role included.
We then broke off into little groups of people working on different tasks; Mike spent the lesson mainly working on the scripts. Tara and Ash worked on designing T-shirts for promotion and merchindise for the show. I think that the T-shirts are a very good idea and the design so far is very good as it features the title 'Lines' on the front and the shows catch phrase 'Let see how well you cope in detention' on the back. The font on the T-shirts are very interesting and are definatly T-shirts that fit with the target audience for the show (15-20)...it is the type of shirt design that someone of that age group would wear, I gave them the idea to use the colour red. The reason I think it is a good idea is not only so that fans of the show have some merchindise to buy but only if people that have not seen the show may see the shirts and be interested in watching it. The T-shirts, if any are sold, may also bring us some money from the comission of T-shirt sales from www.shreadshirt.com

My tasks for the day were to first update the social networking sites twitter.com/Lines_Webisode and facebook. Then to create a myspace for the show, although a lot of people say that not as many people use myspace opposed to facebook I still think it is a good idea as there are a lot of people that probably do not have facebook but have myspace and these people would not be able to be updated about show information if we were to only put it on facebook. I also think that different types of people use facebook and myspace so having both helps generate a wider range of audiences. The myspace is www.myspace.com/lines_cdfilms I also created a background for the page which includes the shows new logo...the profile pictures on all of the social networking sites are also the image of the logo.
